EXPRESSIVENESS OF DEFECTIVE VERBS

In the article, the peculiarities of defective verbs in Russian are studied. The examples prove that their defective paradigm can be overcome, which is observed in various functional styles. Grammatical forms, which contradict norms or are usually unused, become expressive means. The conditions of filling grammatical gaps are systematized, it is noted that these conditions are different for commonly non-existent forms and for forms, which are usually not in use.
