Abstract

A brief report on the results of the Sixth International Conference on the "Dialogue of Urban and Steppe Cultures in the Eurasian Space. Historical Geography of the Golden Horde," dedicated to the memory of G. A. Fedorov-Davydov, a famous researcher of the Golden Horde, is presented in the article. The conference was held in Bolgar (Tatarstan, Russian Federation) on September 27-29, 2013. It was organized by the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, the Institute of history, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and Mari State University. The conference was attended by 50 scholars from various scientific centers of Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Most papers were devoted to the study of the medieval sites located in the Volga river region. Problems of numismatics and paleoclimatology, as well as those related to the Golden Horde period sites in other regions of Eastern Europe were also widely discussed at the forum. The materials based on the papers are represented in this issue of the journal.
