The Jizya that was the major source of income of the Ottoman Empire and was applied for Non-Muslim vassal was collected by a number of changes over time as a requirement of Islamic law, from establishing the state, as the tribute firstly and as the capitation tax after XVI. Century, as a house or capitation tax for some periods; and it was converted to the military rate in 1856; on August 7, 1909, military duty also completely removed as final balance of the jizya, general military service obligation has been applied. Harput District's MAD.d 5961 numbered 13 Hijjah 1102 (7 September 1691) and 13 Hijjah 1103 (26 August 1692) dated this book was kept after Grand Vizier Köprülüzade Mustafa Pasa's jizya reform. It includes important knowledge of its periods' Harput District's permanent or temporary Non-Muslim residents, and implementation of the jizya reform.
