Abstract
The practical demand for knowing, how the bottom of reservoirs looks, arose years ago. First of all, this knowing was important for navigators. It was necessary to monitor shoaling to ensure the navigational safety. Now the functioning of artificial reservoirs in many respects depends on that, how well the person knows about ground processes, about a reservoir bathymetry. The modern geoinformation technologies, which allow processing mass basic data quickly and to a high precision, and also visually showing the obtained results, facilitate studying of bathymetry of water objects. This article deals with creating model of a basin of an artificial reservoir by means of GIS-technologies.
