Abstract
This article is reveal the problem of television discourse. On the example of the titles of TV programs, lingua-pragmatic features of the Japanese television discourse are distinguished. The title of the TV program is considered as a small-format text with such important characteristics as individuality, intertextuality, pragmatic functionality, thematic certainty and completeness. A characteristic feature of such texts is the "visual brevity", which is inseparably linked with the communicative aspects. Because of the study, the main characteristics of the names of Japanese TV shows are highlighted: pragmatic adequacy and informative concreteness of nominative structures. Moreover, as an ethnocultural specificity, graphic features of the titles of Japanese television pro- grams are highlighted
