Abstract
The article deals with the links between a cliché rhyme and the semantics of poetic texts. In the English poetic texts of the XIX century the author identifies recurrent rhymes with the noun “stream”. Using quantitative data the author compares the frequency of the cliché rhymes. The paper contains the description of some semantic recurrences in the contexts of a rhyme, which points at the links between a rhyme cliché and thematic motif.
