Abstract
This article deals with the lexical means of expressing emotional state in the speech of young people, using 'The Russian Dictionary of Youth Slang – A Glossary' by T.G. Nikitina [4]. It reveals how the semantics of emotion-expressing words motivates the linguistic naming of the objective world.
