Abstract

The article outlines the essential landmarks of the path of life, museum and scientific activity of Nina Aleksandrovna Kokorina. As a student of the young archaeologist circle under the State (presently National) Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, she participated in archaeological expeditions and made a conscious decision to become an archaeologist as early as in her school years. Her teachers of archaeology were E.A. and A.Kh. Khalikovs, T.A. Khebnikova, A.P. Smirnov and A.M. Efimova. She worked in the Institute for Language, Literature and History named after G. Ibragimov, State Museum of the Tatarstan Republic, State Historical Museum and the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. N.A. Kokorina's primary academic interests are related to the investigation of the history and culture of Volga Bolgaria, the Golden Horde and Kazan Khanate, medieval pottery, signs and tamgas of the Middle Ages.
