Abstract

The research results clarifying the mining and geological characteristics of the mine "Chertinskaia - Koksovaia" mining lease and of the extraction site number 560 are given. Data analyses received from exploration boreholes is ful lled. With interpolation method of these data within the mining lease the computer maps of coal seam No. 5 characteristics are built. These maps serve as a basis for a detailed de nition of coal seam properties change. Considerable changeability of the mined seam properties and bedding conditions is revealed, which is not taken into account in full when calculating methane in ow, ventilation and degassing on regulatory practices, leading to a signi cant averaging of mining and technological parameters along the length of the extraction pillar. At the Institute of Coal we de ned the geomechanical process peculiarities considering the containing rock massif as the extraction face advances which allows to eliminate this defect. It is shown that these peculiarities are based on non-linear patterns of stress changes in the contour part of the rock massif and determine gas conditions at extraction sites. Nonlinear geomechanical processes modeling results are shown that take into account the speci c conditions of mining and to take engineering solutions to reduce gas danger. The degassing boreholes parameters justi cation and calculation for the above and underneath laying seams are ful lled. The results proved that the number of boreholes de ned by the Institute of Coal methods is the minimal number of boreholes for the conditions under consideration. In this situation the main aim of the close seams degassing is achieved – maximum reduction of gas in ow at gob area of the extraction section.
