Abstract

A numerical study of multifront (mesh) a two-dimensional structure of the detonation wave (DW) was carried out . Model of methane detonation combustion is based on a two- stage mechanism of detonation kinetics (the induction stage and the main stage of the heat generation). The two-dimensional structure of the DW in methane-air mixture is numerically analyzed in a wide range of cross-channel dimensions, studied the changes in the structure of the established self-sustaining waves by varying the channel width. Based on the analysis of received ow patterns, the detonation cell size in a stoichiometric methane-air mixture is determined to be 33 ± 3 cm. Modeling of cellular structures in a stoichiometric methane-oxygen mixture revealed a transverse dimension equal to 0.3-0.35 cm cell, which is almost two orders of magnitude less than the in stoichiometric mixtures of methane - the air. These values are in good agreement with the experimental data.
