Abstract
The influence of the biblical texts on Russian culture can hardly be overestimated. The paper emphasizes that the constant “Dialogue with the Bible” brings together a whole layer of romances, the contents of which are motivated by biblical stories. For the analysis were selected romances, poetry primary sources which contain direct references to the Book of books and biblical allusions, allowing explicate scenes from the Book of Genesis, Revelation, the Book of Psalms, the Gospel of John. The complex intersection of copyright and biblical context is considered in terms of value-semantic orientations of Russian culture, in which ideas of “Godjudge” and “God the giver of wealth” are significant.
