Abstract
In this article the author analyze on of the problem cultural interactions between Japan and West: reception traditions the classic Japanese theatre Noh by representatives of western art culture in XX century. The author consider only one, but important aspect of reception Noh tradition by western art culture: the “textual”. It shows that reception of Noh tradition at the first stage (the first half XX century was realized through translations by western orientalists (Pery, Waley, Fenollosa) without approach to “live” tradition play art of Noh. This translations was interprets by western artists in confirm their self aesthetic, moral and intellectual conceptions.
