Chinese and Japanese art culture influences in poetic creative works by E. Pound

Abstract

In this article regards influence of Chinese and Japanese cultures on poetical creation and theory of art by English-American poet E. Pound. From Chinese culture Pound borrowed the hieroglyph possibilities of which he using at the theoretical plane discussed in his notes to work by E. Fenolloza “Chinese written Character as a Medium for Poetry”. Besides poetical theory Pound used Chinese Written Character in his poetical cycle “Cantos”. Pound set Chinese written character on the margin of his “Cantos” using its as “super positional images”. In Japanese culture Pound most of all interested classical No theatre and classical haiku, from which he borrowed the structure organized Principe of his poetical creations. In “Cantos” as in plays of No, all of works group around the Uniting Image.
