Abstract
The article reveals 1920—1930s as the most busy and intense period of the soviet architecture. Architects discussed many problems according to new type of a soviet city, housing, recreation and working areas, etc. Also they argued if it was necessary to change the image of the city or to save it. The article observes only ideas of Moscow city planning as a new capital of the USSR. The author of the article analyses some ideas of the architects concerning high-rise and low-rise buildings, districts' partition and also demolitions of many buildings as a part of The 1935 General Plan for reconstruction of Moscow realization
