Abstract
The research project entitled ‘Employee Job Satisfaction” is to understand the satisfaction level of the employees working at a diverse level at the Ashok Leyland Ltd., Chennai. The primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire which contains an open end question and closed end question. This survey was carried out in various departments of the Company. In the path of study, it was found that the employees are satisfied with a working environment and one more thing they needed is the employees needing transparency in actions by the company. The study is descriptive in nature helps the researcher to find out various characteristics of the population. Simple Random sampling technique and also convenient sampling was adopted for selecting sample units from the employees. The methods of data collection for the study include both primary and secondary data. The primary data were collected through questionnaires by conducting a personal interview with the employees. The resource of secondary data was from the company database and websites. A sample size of 200 employees helped to analyze their satisfaction level and provide valuable suggestions. The statistical tool used for analyzing and interpreting the opinions of the employees and the tool includes simple percentage analysis and hypothesis testing (chi square test). The results were presented with the help of different charts and diagrams. The findings of the study are analyzed and appropriate suggestions were given to the improvement of the satisfaction level of the employee.
