Abstract
The article examines image and stylistic evolution of soviet architecture and artistic ensemble of the second half 1930—1950-ies as an expression of state ideology. During this period take place important changes in the conception of arts interaction with the leading role of architecture, formed in the late 1920-s - early 1930-s. now in the practice and theory of artistic life enters the notion of “synthesis of arts”, implying the theatralization of space and hegemony of monumental and decorative sculpture. This is proven in the article on the examples of such model monuments as Union Agricultural Exhibition (VSHV), Moscow Metro stations of pre- and post-war period and the Soviet pavilions at International Expositions in Paris and New York.
