Abstract
Abstract : BACKGROUND- Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST) are commonly regarded as solitary tumours. They are rarely seen in association with Neurofibromatosis (NF-1). CASE REPORT-we present here a case of multiple gastrointestinal stromal tumour in a 40 year old female admitted with neurofibromatous lesions. Exploratory laporotomy revealed multiple nodular masses on the serosal surface of jejunum. Small bowel resection and side to side anastomosis were performed. Histopathological examination revealed small bowel multiple gastro intestinal stromal tumour. CONCLUSION- The incidence of GIST among neurofibromatisis type 1 is not uncommon. we should pay attention to gastrointestinal manifestations in such patients Keyword :gastrointestinal stromal tumour(GIST), neurofibromatosis, multiple
