FORMULATION OF GEL CONTAINING PSIDIUM GUAJAVA LEAVES EXTRACTS TO DETERMINE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY

Abstract
Psidium guajava Linn (Myrtaceae) has been used as traditional medicine. Due to no molecular pharmacological evidence of this herbal plant, we investigated the anti- inflammatory activity. Quercetin was taken as marker, an anti-inflammatory component which is major phytoconstituent of psidium guajava leaves. The comparative study of hydroalcoholic and methanolic extract of Psidium guajava leaves was carried out to evaluate anti-inflammatory activity. The major findings of the study demonstrated the antiinflammatory activity potential of Psidium guajava leaves extract gel formulation.
