Abstract
The famous German designer Konstantin Grcic has created a set of seats based on furniture in a 15th-century Italian artwork (“St. Jerome in his study” by Antonello da Messina) and at the same time presents his vision the future of industrial design in new digital age. Grcic driven by an honesty of materials and an appropriateness of production methods, yet injected with an inventiveness and originality that set his work apart. The article describes the work and views on the art of one of the most successful German artists of the twentyfirst century, quickly entered into the category of the most important industrial designers.
