Abstract
Economic education is necessary for all graduates of vocational education institutions for their successful socialization in an atmosphere of ever-changing reality. Formation of economic competence of students in educational institutions of secondary and higher vocational education is connected with the development of basic components of economic competence and development of personal qualities such as responsibility, thrift, thriftiness, hard work, creative approach, initiative, resourcefulness, and commitment. The development of key economic competencies the student is a guarantee of its competitiveness on the labour market and the basis for making sound economic decisions in everyday life of each person.
