Abstract
In present research study the researcher has made a comparative study of attitude towards ICT of Post Basic and Secondary shools teachers in term of gender and stream of schools. The researcher has utilized general survey method for research study. The researcher has implemented ASTIT (Attitude scale towards Information Technology for Teachers) as the tool for research. The researcher has selected 200 teachers from 58 Post Basic schools and 140 teachers from secondary schools from entire Gujarat state as a sample. Then the researcher got the ASTITT scale filled in by all the teachers by sending them same. This ASTITT scale was got filled in by teachers of 18 districts. After getting the ASTITT back from tearcher the negative statements were given the numbers 1,2,3,4 and 5 and 5,4,3,2 and 1 to positive statements respectively. Then the mean, standered deviation and critical ratio were sought out on the base of scores obtained by them. Then the comparative study of scores of ASTITT obtained by 200 teachers of Post Basic schools and 140 teachers from secondary schools was held on the Basis of “t” value. In the next test a comparative test of scores obtained on ASTITT by 148 male teachers of Post Basic schools and 86 male teachers of secondary schools was made. And a comparative study of scores obtained on ASTITT scale obtained by 52 female teachers of Post Basic schools and 54 famale teachers of Secondary schools was made in context of their gender the results of formerly extablished hypotheses for comparison of attitude towards ICT of teachers of both the type of Post Basic Schools attitude towards ICT was found lower than that of Secondary school teachers. While examining the formally hypotheses established in terms of gender, it was found that the ICT attitude of Post Basic female teachers was found to be lower than that of the famele teachers of secondry schools. Therefore there is a suggestion based on the research that the teachers of Post Basic schools should offerd more motivation and training in order to promote them attitude towards ICT.
