Abstract
The metaphor, defined as metaphorically expressing situations, events or phenomena by analogy, is a very effective tool for understanding and explaining organizations. The brain is a system that processes, stores, integrates or modifies different kinds of information at the same time. One of the main aims of the brain is to adapt to the environment. Therefore, the brain reacts to the changes and stimulus that occur around it and creates new behaviors. According to the brain metaphor, there are similarities between brain and organizations. In this study, brain metaphor which is one of important metaphors and reflections of brain metaphor in education were examined. Also in this study; organizations were approached into three categories as “organizations as information processing brains”, “organizations as complex learning systems (cybernetic systems)” and “organizations as holographic brains” and the status of the brain metaphor in educational organizations was discussed.
