Abstract
In the article analyzed the definition of «cross-cultural tolerance» and systematized of represented definitions by its' selected main characteristics. The author formulates her def- inition «the cross-cultural tolerance of social pedagogues», based on personal and ideological semantic characteristics of represented definitions. The interdependence between these defini- tions leads to the conclusion about the relevant necessity for a purposeful development of cross-cultural tolerance throughout the entire process of social pedagogues' professional edu- cation. This necessity due to a presence of everyday professional and personal contacts with problems of cross-cultural tolerance in the practical activities of social pedagogues
