A Mentality-Related Reading about Hakan Günday’s “Daha” Novel

Abstract
The subject of Hakan Günday's last novel “Daha” consists of one of the most important problems nowadays “immigration” and “human trafficking”. Tragedy of children who suffer from the mistakes made in the past are symbolized with main character of the novel “Gaza” and his surroundings. Also, this novel, which tells the face-off period of humanity with its big sin, can be evaluated as the story of Gaza's transformation to self. Reader starts to deal with mostly “what is narrated/content” just with the first sentence of Daha. At this point, mentality concept becomes prominent due to connecting the reader to the text. In this essay, some elements that expand from individual to society, that are brought to the attention of reader by main character and that helps to understand mentality of the writer and era will be analyzed.
