Abstract
The article analyzes the activities of the Department of education of the city district Degtyarsk in Sverdlovsk region for the development of the municipal system of education in conditions of modernization of Russian education. On the example of educational institutions of the city revealed the main directions of educational policy in the municipality, aimed at generating a public and quality education to the residents of the urban district.
