ON THE NATURE OF A PHOTON

Physical properties of a photon are investigated in the paper. Photon is presented as a quantum of electromagnetic wave in the medium. The method of experimental evaluation of its energy and mass is given using radiation pressure effect. The concept of photon amplitude is introduced through which its energy is expressed by analogy with quantum (phonon) energy in mechanical wave. We consider the model of a photon as an elemental shift perturbation, on the basis of which the evaluation of its volume is made. The final expression for the energy corresponds to commonly known one in the part of frequency proportionality, but is more informative.
