FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS: DEVELOPMENT OF THE RUSSIAN BANKING SYSTEM

The article shows the features of the development of crisis phenomena in the banking system of Russia on analysis of macroeconomic indicators and the aggregate balance indicators of Russian banks in 2003–2015. We identified several cycles of credit booms and squeezes, which indicate crises faced by the banking system. Different sources of crises are demonstrated. It is concluded that it is impossible to increase the stability of the banking system without structural changes in our economy.
