Abstract
The article deals with the mechanisms of interaction between the Free Economic Society and the regional statistical services of pre-revolutionary Russia. It was determined that there were no regional branches of the VEO, but the members of the Society conducted their activities throughout the country. Based on the analysis of sources and literature, the entire activity of society can be divided into educational and scientific-experimental. One of the most common forms of interaction between statistical institutions of the regions with the Company was traced in the development of census and questionnaires, instruction on the conduct of statistical work and the formation of survey programs.
