SPIRITUAL LIFE OF OLD BROADCASTS OF TOMSK GUBERNIA   IN THE CONTEXT OF STATE-CONFESSIONAL POLICY OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE OF THE XIX CENTURY

In solving the issue of Old Believer rites secular and, in the first place, diocesan authorities were supporters of exclusively administrative-power methods. Forcible termination of Old Believers 'marriages and excommunication of children from their parents, violent crossing of Old Believers' children in the synodal church, strict police supervision, often bordering on elementary arbitrariness and lawlessness, served as a manifestation of the state position on this issue.
