Abstract

The author defines the peculiarities of prognostic articles of the English newspaperы, describes their functional, structural, vocabulary and morphosyntactic features. The article approves of the ways in which prognostic articles can be used in foreign language teaching, the author gives examples of tasks for the development of ESL-students’ linguocultural competence
