Abstract

On 1st November 1954 erupted the Algerian revolution, led by the National Liberation Front (FLN), where the revolution was unexpected for the French government. At the beginning of the revolution, the French people were not interested in what is happening in Algeria, believing it is a rebellion marketed his government. After the events of 20 August 1955 draw the attention of the French public opinion, especially the young recruits, whose have staged demonstrations, refusing to join in Algeria and French public opinion is split into two supporters section to continue the war in Algeria, such as the extreme right and the Socialist Party and the Communist Party. This last changed his opinion in 1957 and opposition section trade of the war in Algeria, such as the extreme left and the trade unions, and teachers and a group of intellectuals such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Johnson, and Simone de Beauvoir, Charles-André Julien and others.
