Abstract
Pervious concrete is a ground water and reduce the surface water runoff. This study investigates the mechanical properties and permeability of pervious concrete. The pervious mix is made up of aggregates of size 20mm also made with graded aggregates in the ratio 60:40 and 40:60. The result indicates that the aggregates with the smaller size give more compressive strength. Quarry sand is added to the pervious mix in 30% and 50% which i strength. Water permeability is found to be more with the larger size aggregates and reduced with the smaller size of aggregates. Flexural strength of the pervious concrete increases by adding 50% of quarry sand to the mix. Based o was found that the pervious mix with small size aggregates after adding Quarry sand gives more compressive strength. Permeability in the concrete is reduced to some extent after adding Quarry sand. Adding 50% of quarry sand in the Pervious m gives better result.
