Abstract
The paper provides the main peculiarities of activity of pharmaceutical companies and their classification. Emphasis is placed on the emergence and inevitable development of the pharmaceutical industry in Russia, objectives and ways to achieve them until 2020. Also author is considering the correctness of doing business in this area and the role of the medical representative.
