Abstract
The present study focus on the fatigue behavior of conventional concrete and high performance concrete. The conventional concrete M30 grade, with mix ratio of 1:1.55:2.75 designed as per IS44. The beams are tested by static loading. The results of laboratory investigation on the conventional concrete and high performance concrete are presented. This study includes the load-deflection characteristics, cracking behavior, strain characteristics of concrete beams tested at 28 days. The investigation revealed the fatigue behavior of the conventional concrete and high performance concrete beam which is compared to the standard value which is quoted in IRC 58-2002. The fatigue resistance is generally defined as the ability to respond to repeated traffic loading under the prevailing environmental conditions without significant cracking or premature failure being induced. With the advancement of the technology and increased field application of concrete and mortars; the strength, workability, durability, fatigue behavior and other characteristics of ordinary concrete is continually undergoing modifications to make it more suitable for any situations.
