Abstract
Family is the most powerfulelement of the community. The effect of the family life on the individuals constitutes the appearence of the view of the community. The number of the children in family, ecenomic status, family structure (nuclear/ extended), number of individuals with continuous sickness, and existence of the disabled person effects the position of the parents in social life. This is not, the same in every family. Espescially mental disabled people‘s life long situations directs the attitude of the parents. Parents think that they should get same support to fight this situation. In this study, the children of parents of mentally retarded students approach were to determine the educational content they need. This research is a qualitative case study. Set in the city of Düzce, it includes group an one- on –one interviews with than mothers who have their children in a special education facility. The one- on- one interview and group interview technique were used as the means of collecting data. A semi- structered form wasusedtocollectthe data. Intheanalysis, thecontentanalysistechniquewasused. Thethemeswerethen listen amongthemselves.
