A RESEARCH ON TOURISM AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION OF

As tourism and environment is intertwined, it makes individual and social responsibility to develop environmental awareness important. Since Environmental problems in the fields of tourism started to reach significant levels, university students majoring in tourism need to have greater responsibility on environmental awareness and sensitivity. For this purpose a research was conducted on tourism and environmental awarenes of undergraduate students of tourism. The questionnaire is conducted face to face with convenience sampling method to students who are studying in Çanakkale 18 Mart University School of Tourism and Hotel Management. Analysis of data from 400 people participating in the study were interpreted. According to the analysis, tourism students in general were found to have a positive attitude towards the environment and tourism. Based on the gender of the students, , more women than men were found to have a positive attitude towards the environment and tourism. According to age 19 years of age has a more positive attitude towards tourism.
