NUMERICAL DETERMINATION OF THE MEMBRANE CAPACITY IN THE PROBLEM OF DISTRIBUTION OF THE ACTION POTENTIAL ACROSS THE NERVOUS FIBER

Abstract
The problem of potential distribution across the nerve fiber, which is described by a telegraph equation of parabolic type, is considered. This problem is reduced to the inverse problem of the hyperbolic equation and the last problem is solved by the numerical finite-difference method, using the following methods: rectification of characteristics, isolation of features. The theorem on the convergence of an approximate solution to the exact solution of the inverse problem is proved. In respect of the problem's equivalence, the approximate calculation of the membrane capacity of the problem set is determined.
