Abstract
It is well known that high strength concrete displays a brittle behaviour and less tough characteristics than normal strength concrete. In this of project an experimental study conducted on high strength concrete reinforced with natural fibers (tap root of velvet mesquite). It is observed that natural fibers enhanced the mechanical properties like tensile strength, flexural strength. Natural fibers seem to be good alternative since they are readily available in fibrous form and can be extracted from trees at very low costs. In this work, we have studied the tensile behaviour of a high performance natural fiber- Velvet mesquite tap roots. The principle motive behind the incorporating fibers into cement matrix is to increase the toughness, tensile strength and improving the cracking deformation characteristics under any type of loading. The tap root of velvet mesquite fiber content used in this investigation is 0.1% and 0.2% and a chemical add mixture SP complast430 was used to increase the workability of the concrete. The objective of this work is a systematic assessment of the performance in high strength concrete with natural fibers. Conplast SP 430 as a chemical admixture this provides high early strength for concrete.
