Abstract
Concrete-filled double skin tubular (CFDST) beams consist of two concentric steel tubes, the void between them is filled with concrete. Advantages of CFDST over fully concrete filled steel tubes (CFST) include increase in section modulus, better damping, lighter weight; cyclic loading. In this paper mechanical properties such as Compressive strength cubes and Split tensile strength of cylinders were tested for M20 grade concrete. Different CFDST beams varying inner and outer dimensions with corresponding thicknesses were fabricated. Bending test is performed and compared with theoretical values. The beams are shown good performance in ductile and bending.
