Abstract
Soft soils are expansive soils. Bearing limit of these expansive soils are less. Expansive soils comprises of sand, sediment and rock. Soft soils has large number of voids due to this they have less bearing capacity. Chicken feathers are used as a biopolymer in this for stabilization of soft soil. Chicken feathers are dumped waste of the poultry business. Billions of kilograms of waste chicken feathers are produced every year by business poultry preparing plants making a genuine strong waste issue in numerous nations. Conventional transfer techniques of chicken feathers are costly and troublesome. They are frequently singed in cremation plants, covered in landfills or reused into low quality creature encourage. These transfer techniques are limited, produce greenhouse gasses or posture risk to the earth. So taking chicken quills as a composite material. We are utilizing it in soil adjustment where most part we utilize fly ash, metakaolin sort materials. The result showed that with the increase in chicken feathers up to 5% the shear strength of the soft soil increases and then decreases
