Abstract
The article is devoted to the lexicographic analysis of the names of months in the English language. The article examines the distinctive tendency of the English lan-guage, which provokes interest in the study of lexical units. An etymological analysis of the dictionary entries revealing the origin of the names of the months is carried out.
