Abstract
Cashless society is the model where transactions involving money take place through digital mode and where there is no or very slight use of hard cash. This research paper discusses the determinations of Government of India in promoting cashless transactions. All over India steps are being taken to make this dream come true. All these efforts and their benefits have been discussed and the hurdles in path to the success of this initiative have also been highlighted in the paper. Also the cashless economy of Sweden has been analyzed and compared with the economy of India
