Abstract
A Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) is a collection of autonomous mobile nodes that communicate with each other over wireless networks.Characteristics. The nodes of a mobile ad hoc network do not have a centralized mechanis m, each node act as both host and router. That is it is autonomous in behavior. The nodes can join or leave the network at any time, making the network topology dynamic in nature. Mobile nodes are characterized with identical light weight features with similar responsibilities and capabilities and hence form a complete symmetric environment. Multicast is the delivery of a message or information to a group of destination computers simultaneously in a single transmission from the source. Characteristics-More efficient, reliable.
