PERCEPTION OF FACULTY MEMBERS ON THE LIBRARY RESOURCES AND SERVICES OF SELECTED ARTS AND SCIENCE GOVERNMENT AIDED COLLEGES AFFILIATED TO BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY, TIRUCHIRAPPALI – A SURVEY

The study is an attempt to examine the extent of use of library facilities and services by the faculty members of selected arts and science government aided colleges affiliated to Bharathidasan University by exploring the purposes of seeking and collecting required information; preference of utilizing information resources and services; the users' satisfaction on the services provided by the selected libraries; and to identify the problems associated with information seeking. A total of 512 faculty members from eight colleges were surveyed through questionnaire. It was found that majority of the respondents are satisfied with the resources and services available in the selected libraries.
