Zekai Kaplan’s Life, Personality and Musician

This study purpose to put forth Zekai Kaplan's life, personality and musician. This subject carry weight with Zekai Kaplan's studies in religious music and from the point of view of the students in this field. Mr. Kaplan played reed flute and a small dooble drum, he participated at various music meeting and he established Mehter team in 1966. Mehter team's works lasted up to 1975. Afterwards he directed to choirs playing the small double drum at various amateur and professional choirs, music association and community. He got a certificate in religious music service training at Samsun in 1985 and he attended as a teacher to later opining courses. He attended to opining courses at many cities as Giresun, İzmir after Samsun and he published book called religious music in 1991. Article prosecuted using qulitative research technic profound interview technic and obtained datas from interview resoved with content analysis method. Further benefited from various written resources In the results of working identified Zekai Kaplan's studies at music field and contributions to Turkish religious music.
