Abstract
The article deals with the industrial development of Sverdlovsk oblast in the post-crisis period of 2010−2015. As the key research method, the author uses the rating method; the principal data source are annual and quarterly reports taken from the statistical information system SPARK. The author presents a combined ranking of the biggest industrial companies of the Sverdlovsk oblast according to their sales revenues expressed in US dollars (using the exchange rate of 2010) for 2010, 2014, 2015. The analysis indicated an uneven growth across sectors, especially when comparing top and bottom 100 companies. The author points to the multidirectional development of the regional machinery industry that generally experiences a recession except for the military-industrial complex, which makes a stark contrast and grows rapidly. It is proved that it is the modernization of the regional machinery that will enable the economy of Sverdlovsk oblast to catch the reindustrialization wave.
