Abstract
The paper scrutinizes the peculiarities of transport and logistic services market and looks at the main directions of their development. The authors consider the role of trucks in logistics chains of goods distribution as the principal short-range transport and detect multidirectional trends in road freight transport development. Major providers of logistics services in conditions of evolving integration processes in logistics of goods distribution are identified. The analysis of the goals and tasks of participants of logistics chains of goods distribution reveals disunity of their economic interests and inconsistencies arising during their interaction. The authors argue that the implementation of suggestions on consolidation of actions of supply chains' participants and the use of IT to manage business processes will allow gaining competitive advantages from the services provided, improve their quality, optimize costs of the participants and reduce the cost of transportation.
