Overview of Multi Class Support Vector Machine & its Application in Agriculture

ABSTRACT The support vector machine (SVM) was originally designed as a binary (or two class) classifier with great success in many applications. In real world, it is more often to found the problems with multiple classes than only two classes. So it needs to extend SVM for multi class classification problems. This paper presents the methods of the multi class SVM and its application in the field of agriculture, as Indian economy highly depends on agricultural productivity. Plants are not always healthy. Hence early detection of plant diseases is very important and there is a need of automatic plant disease detection system in the early stage of disease. This paper provides an overview of machine learning algorithm called Multi Class SVM for the effective classification of plant diseases.
