MAIN FUNCTIONS OF TEACHERS’ QUALIFICATION UPRAISING IN JAPAN

Abstract

Introduction. The article enlighten the way of the peculiarities of the educational process wich lies in the system of pedagigical postgraduate education in Japan. In the article are presented the main content and objectives of the process of qualification upraising of educational specialists in the country, identified major trends of continuing education of teachers to improve national education system. Purpose. The purpose of this article is to substantiate the main functions of the process of qualification upraising, providing high quality of postgraduate education of teachers in Japan. Results. Article concretizes peculiarities of pedagogical process of qualification upraising in Japan, where there are a variety of institutions and organizational forms of qualification upraising. In the country were organized scientific educational centers to create proper conditions for qualification upraising, (from 1960) educational centers (were founded from 1965). Since the end of 1950, Teachers volunteers created groups to mastery of specific subjects. From the beginning of 1989, pedagogical process of qualification upraising acquired for the beginners start-binding character. Taking into account the recommendations of the State Committee on Reforms, teachers should pass training under the supervision of the school director for one year. Also required component of qualification upraising of junior specialists is participation in courses, lectures and individual and group consultations. Teachers of senior secondary, junior secondary, primary schools and teachers in the kindergartens, which should improve their professional competence, after qualification upraising get certificate (Bachelor's degree and master's degree, graduate diploma of junior specialist college), which give the right to work at the institution of education. The law allows to change the certificate of the lower class to a higher, to influence not only on the status of the teacher, but also on the level of profits. Originality. The author defines basic functions of qualification upraising of teachers in Japan; analyzes the content and structure of the educational process and teacher training at the present stage of development. Conclusion. This study allows to find the peculiarities of the content and structure of the educational process in the system of postgraduate education in Japan. Characteristics of modern development trends in the system of teachers postgraduate education in this country, allows to accumulate this experience in the line of the educational process, content and teaching methods, to strength the competitiveness of local teachers.
