INFORMATION-AND-TECHNICAL SUPPORT OF A TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES IN THE ORGANIZATION OF STUDENTS’ INDEPENDENT WORK WHILE LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

Introduction. One of the main objectives is to increase the role of independent work of students and strengthen responsibility teachers for the development of independent work by stimulating the professional growth of the students and bringing up their creative activity and initiative. The independent work of students at this stage aims not only to develop subject knowledge and skills, but also professional competence, regarded as a characteristic readiness to resolve professional problems. Purpose is the detection capabilities of information technologies for the support the activities of teachers to improve the quality of students' independent work in learning a foreign language. Results The effectiveness of independent student's work is provided by the following conditions: 1) methodically reasonable organization of classroom and extracurricular student work. 2) monitoring the results of independent work; 3) providing students with the necessary teaching materials to transform the process of independent work in the creative process. The success of the organization and management of students' independent work is impossible without a clear system of control. The control at all stages of education must be planned and systematic. The terms and conditions of the effective use of information technology are: 1) a sufficient level of computer literacy of students, 2) a sufficient level of computer literacy of teachers of foreign languages, 3) the availability of technical resources. The use of a personal computer as an instrument of supporting the professional activity of the teacher of a foreign language can not only work more effectively with educational materials, but also to optimize the learning process by systematically registering its parameters and create data banks on each individual student and the group of students in general (information initial level of knowledge, the results of this monitoring, the average score given for the preferential rate of work, etc.). Conclusion. Modern educational environment in the university shifts the emphasis of foreign language learning process towards independent work. Information technologies serve the effective means of self-organization, self-monitoring of students, streamlining the process of formation of foreign language communicative competence, implement individual and professional orientation of foreign language education at the university.
